Nick is a philosopher, anthropologist, TV/radio presenter and world-renowned expert on creativity, innovation and change. He designs multi-media transformational experiences; and is one of Britain’s leading – and most pioneering - leadership coaches, working across the globe with celebrities, social entrepreneurs and ethical organisations to help create lasting change. His inspiration is simple: the only way we – as individuals or as a planet – can truly change is by inventing new way of thinking about things and then working collaboratively with others to doing things differently.
Nick has recently starred in a successful BBC network television series, and is a regular expert on Radio 1, the nation’s most popular radio station for the under 35s. He was a leadership coach on MTV’s highest-rated series in history, has recently developed an interactive ‘happiness festival’ for BBC Learning (that is now touring the UK) and has appeared regularly on BBC News. He has written for the Financial Times, developed the launch idea for Xbox worldwide and advised No. 10 Downing Street on innovation.
Nick has spent over 15 years researching and applying the psychology and philosophy of change, creativity and happiness. He holds a triple 1st Class degree in philosophy and medicine from Cambridge University; and has been awarded a string of prizes and fellowships from major institutions, including business schools and presidential foundations. He has studied most of the world’s major philosophies and wisdom traditions and uses his expertise in anthropology to inspire people with cultural, spiritual and psychological insights from all corners of the globe.
Nick uses his change and creativity expertise on an individual level to help people achieve their potential to be leaders in their own lives, contributing positively to the world around them. He has recently launched Inner Revolution, a company that helps people to change the world by changing themselves first. Inner Revolution blends ancient wisdom with the latest scientific, psychological and anthropological research – and delivers it in unexpected, contemporary and hip ways. Nick is working with top DJs and producers to record ‘emotronica’ music (tracks that can spark profound changes in our inner minds); with leading production companies to innovate playful and exciting TV and radio shows on the themes of happiness and psychological adventure; parties, workshops, retreats and holidays that use film, music, martial arts and other techniques to inspire transformation; and has created and launched the world’s first peer-to-peer life coaching toolkit, weCreate, that helps friends create solutions to each other’s challenges and unleash their potential by working together.
Nick is the Chairman of a pioneering collaboration and innovation company, Beyond Zero Innovations, where he uses his change and creativity techniques to help organisations create big ideas that could create a radically better world for us all. Beyond Zero’s vision is to ensure that the breakthrough ideas we - as a global community - need are found, nurtured and disseminated effectively by using web 2.0 and extreme collaboration technologies and the most elegant strategy and thinking tools. Prior to founding Beyond Zero, Nick grew a global innovation consultancy in the private sector, where he worked with the leaders of companies such as Tesco and Unilever to create ideas for rapid growth. He has collaborated with a number of leading media companies to innovate new formats and cross-platform content ideas - Disney, Discovery Channel, Xbox, BBC and PlayStation to name but a few.
